Fifty

The big 5-0. I'm pretty happy with myself for making it so far. Hopefully I can keep this going for a good long while. Anywho. Here's Axe Cop from the wonderful webcomic Axecop. If you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out: http://axecop.com/

Totally Packaged!

So over the last quarter, I've been working on a pitch for an animated series in this class called The Pitch. At the end of the quarter (A week from tomorrow) we're pitching our projects to a person from Warner Brothers. We're told that she's looking to buy pitches, so there's a small bit of hope in there. I'm not going to assume mine is what she's looking for, but it will be an interesting experience to say the least.

You've seen some of this stuff before, at least in concept. The top is obviously the logo. It's supposed to be a wrestling championship belt. Then there's the main characters. Rex and Bobby, who've shown up here before followed by The Don, Grandma Rose, Maria and then Martin. Then there's the layout for the Mega Dome, set up for the WWWL's wrestling events.

I still have a good deal of stuff to do before next Monday. Finish the pilot script, complete another layout at least, and then storyboard out something. I'll try to post that all here once it's done. That way it'll be clear that I do more than just those silly and sometimes awful daily sketches.

Forty Nine

ORKA!

He's the villain in that comic I'm drawing some pages from. Don't worry. I had never heard of him either.

Forty Eight

So, I'm going to be doing some pages from a Marvel Adventures Spider-Man script for one of my finals. I figured I would spend today's sketches doing a little working out of how I want my spider-man to look. Still no idea yet. But here's a start. John Romita Jr. draws one of the best spider-mans in my opinion, so I'll definitely be looking at his stuff for some inspiration.

Forty Seven

Did some more sketches of invincible related characters on that same sheet from yesterday.

That omni-man looks pretty awful.

Forty Six

Today's isn't anything too special. I've been busy with other stuff. Might not get to do anything other than a quick sketch for a while until I get stuff done before finals come around.

But anyway, here is sketch 46, Conquest from Invincible!

Forty Five

Earlier today I decided I would google "ape-x" because that's usually what I do when I come up with an idea for a character. I never like having a character that has the name of another character. So I was pretty disappointed to find that Ape-X is a character from some marvel comics in the 80's. I don't think she was anything big, but it is still very disappointing. Here's the link to the wikipedia page for her: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ape-X

Not to mention her design is ultra lame. At least compared to my awesome backpacked guy up there. C'mon. She doesn't even have legs.

Anywho. I'd still like to take this character somewhere. Either way, I'm sure he'll show up here again.

However, I'll probably do something different tomorrow. Just for some variety.

Forty Four

Here's some more Ape-X. Definitely like these better than that first one.

Forty Three

Here's a character design I did earlier: Ape-X. A superhero gorilla. The design isn't too special since it's sorta the first idea that came to mind. My friend Scott game up with the name and idea, and I think it is awesome. So I'll probably try to see what better stuff I can come up with for him.

Forty Two

Woop woop. Watched Ace Ventura lately. That film definitely holds up.

Forty One

Yeah! It's Donald, from Invincible, and even moreso from Brit. Which is one of my favorite comics ever.

Four Tens!

Forty days and countings. Watched School of Rock earlier, which is why I drew Jack Black. Likenesses are tough. Don't judge.

Then there's Gun Mummy. The first one is pretty awful looking with the inks. Which is why I tried to go with a clearer one with the 2nd. Yep.

Dracula Vs. Tarzan

This sketch was a quick one, which is why those hands are so awful. I still have some homework to do.

Splex Rode

So, today I got the final issue of the Invincible Presents: Atom Eve and Rex Splode mini. In it, Rex gets his first costume or whatever. I honestly think its infinitely cooler than his regular duds, but yeah. Great issue. And I love this design.

Finished

I forgot to make his gloves black before I scanned, but here's the actual thing I wanted for yesterday. I just got Photoshop CS4 and installed it, so no more problems with these sketches (I hope.)

Just a rough

Okay, so I started today's sketch early. I meant to make it cool and finished but things got in the way and its late so I will finish this tomorrow and make it look legible and complete as well as have another sketch for tomorrow.

N-N-NINJAS!

Rex and Bobby aka THE TOTAL PACKAGE facing off against some ninjas.

Those are some pretty big ninjas.

Wherewulf

I still don't have photoshop working, but my scanner does. Here's today's sketch, number 35. Probably should have done some shadows on her. But whatever.

Brit

-ney. Having some problems getting my scanner and photoshop installed after upgrading to windows 7. So here's a photo of today's sketch. Britney, Brit's sister, from BRIT.

Bark at the Moon!

Really lame sketch of The Wolfman. Totally hope this movie is cool. Not enough werewolves in movies.

He doesn't look near wolfy enough

Plector Hasm

He's awesome. One of the coolest characters out there. I definitely hope to see more Hector Plasm stuff in the future. He was created by Benito Cereno and Nate Bellegarde.

What is it good for?

Day 31: War! One of the horsemen of the apocalypse. She's from this idea I did some stuff for a while back.

Jesus

It's Jesus. From Battle Pope.

The Sombrero Boys

Ha-cha-cha.

These are characters from the Total Package pitch I'm working on.

Hellspace

Dev. From Hellspace. I miss Hellspace. In some form, I plan on using it as my senior project next quarter.

27 Days

Jasmine and Raja. Tomorrow I'm going to do something non-aladdin.

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Attempt Number Two

Tried another genie. It's okay. This week has not been my best drawing week.

PHENOMINAL COSMIC POWER....

Itty bitty living space.

Today's kinda sucks. Got to be honest. Maybe I'll try the genie again tomorrow.

Jafar

Jafar!

24.

You Can Call me Al

Aladdin. Day 23. Maybe I'll do all Aladdin characters this week. That could be fun, right?
