Hey, everybody! So there's this comical publication that is coming out tomorrow called The Strange Talent of Luther Strode Issue #5. Aside from being a really awesome comic with some awesome art by Tradd Moore and written by Justin Jordan, there is a pin-up inside that I did a few months ago. I figured I'd wait to post it here til the issue came out.

So go pick it up. Not just for my first 'published' piece of art, but because the book is really great.

Alright, so I just realized I never posted this whole thing on here. It's the whole 8 page pitch for Violent Skies that we sent out. Since things are being re-done I figured that there was no reason to not put this here. Paulina's colors are fantastic. I could have done a better job with the letters, fo sho. Not my strongest area of expertise. Kenny has a cool story going and the new script is really great. I'm working on the second page right now. So take a look at the first try and remember the new and improved actual comic will be even better. Tell me what you think!

Project Rooftop's newest redesign contest is Invincible themed so I thought I'd take a stab at it. I wanted to do something a little more modern and mature looking. Something that could reflect his new idea to 'help people'.

Here's what I went through trying to figure out what I wanted to do. It was a hard thing to come up with when Invincible has already had a ton of alternate costumes shown through all the different alternate universes. I didn't want to stray too far from what was done before or else it might end up not looking like Invincible. It was a lot of variations of small changes that could fit in line with the various Invincible looks and the style of Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley.

Here's the current pencils I'm working on for the Violent Skies cover. It'll be for the pitch we're putting together. As long as it takes and as frustrating as it may be sometimes, I love doing things with perspective. It's nowhere near as complicated as people seem to think, either.

Paulina did these amazing colors on page one of Violent Skies. It's so great seeing someone else color my stuff. I've never felt color-confident so it takes a lot of pressure off me worrying that I'll do shitty color over my pages. Plus she is a great colorist. I can't wait to see the rest of the pages finished.

Here's page 6. I was never confident with my inks in college, especially since we were usually required to use quills. But in the past year, I've only worked with pens and with shaky hands I've got a lot more control using the pens.

Wouldn't say my inks do much enhancement yet, but at least I've jumped the first hurdle of having confidence inking. I've also given up trying to save my pencils and just end up inking right over them.

Okay so, I've spent some time lately, when I haven't been working (which seems to be few and far between) doing some pages for a pitch I'd like to put together. Just pencils so far. And I haven't gotten to the last page yet. But yes. Soon enough these are gonna be inked, colored and lettered with balloons.

The idea basically revolves around Dracula being resurrected as a teenager(on accident),dealing with present day vampire 'politics', not remembering who he was, and trying to use his 'new' abilities without succumbing to the evil inside of him. But it's way more awesome than that. I promise.

This is a sketch of an original detective character for my Detective Narrative class final. If I get time, I'll do something much better looking.

The idea is that he used to be an old hardboiled police detective but now he resides in a miami retirement community and solves crimes there.
